Questions and answers
Questions about consultations and booking
These are the questions we hear most from clients across France before they request an online consultation. Short answers help you decide, prepare and know what happens after you write to us.

Six topics cover almost everything people ask us: how booking works, what a session includes, how to prepare, what you pay and when, what your device needs, and where our work stops and a doctor starts. Each one is handled further down this page in plain language.

Booking
Booking and scheduling in France
You request a slot through the contact form and name two or three preferred times. We reply within one to two working days with the times that are still open, in Central European Time (CET), and confirm one with you. Evening slots are the first to go, and they fill faster in autumn and spring, so a midweek morning is usually easier to secure at short notice.
If you split your time between the mainland and the islands, say so when you write. We plan around ferry days and connection gaps so a crossing never lands in the middle of a call. Once you accept a time, we send the video link and the invoice details together in one message.
What to send with your request
- Two or three times that work for you, with the weekday named
- Whether you are on the mainland, an island, or moving between them
- One line on what you want out of the first conversation
Replies arrive in the order they come in, and a requested time is only held once we confirm it back to you.
What sessions include and how long they last
Every meeting runs by video in English. You do not need to install anything beyond a standard video app, and you can join from a phone if that is what you have.
A first session lasts 50 minutes and ends with short written notes and two to four next steps you can start that week. Follow-ups last 30 minutes and review what worked since the last call, so the second conversation is about adjusting rather than starting over.
Programs combine a first session with one or two follow-ups over four to eight weeks, which is usually long enough to see how a change sits with your ordinary week.
First consultation
Your current eating pattern, what you avoid and why, sleep hours and work rhythm. Ends with written notes and a short list of next steps.
50
minutes
Follow-up session
A review of what worked since the last call, what slipped, and which two or three habits are worth keeping. Notes follow the same working day.
30
minutes
Program length
A first session plus one or two follow-ups, spread across four to eight weeks so each change has time to settle into a normal week.
4–8

What you receive afterwards
Short written notes with the main points of the call and two to four next steps, so nothing depends on remembering what was said.
2–4
next steps
If you are unsure whether a first session or a full program suits you, ask before booking and we will say which one fits your situation. More detail sits on the Nutrition Programs page.
Preparation
How to prepare without stress
Bring two days of rough meal notes with the times you actually ate, plus your sleep hours and your work pattern. They can be on your phone, in a notebook, or in a message you read from. Nothing needs to be tidy.
Photos of the breakfasts you eat most often help, and so do labels from the French shops you buy from, because the same product name can hide different amounts of salt or sugar between brands. List the foods you avoid and the reason behind each one, and mention any medicine that affects your appetite. You do not need lab tests or a perfect diary for a first conversation. Honest notes beat polished records every time.
- Two days of meals, with rough times rather than weights
- Sleep hours and the shape of your working day
- Foods you avoid, and the reason you avoid them
- Any medicine that changes how hungry you feel
Payment, invoices and cancellations
We accept bank transfer against an invoice. The site does not take online card payments, and we never ask for card details by email or message.
Invoice first, then transfer
After you accept a time, we send the transfer details together with the invoice. The slot is held briefly while the transfer clears; once the payment is confirmed, the appointment is locked in and the video link follows.
Rescheduling
Write as early as you can and we will offer the nearest alternatives. A ferry delay or a work clash is easy to work around when we hear about it a day ahead rather than an hour before.
Repeated late cancellations
If several appointments are cancelled at short notice, we may ask for prepayment on the next booking. It is a scheduling rule, not a penalty, and it is always stated on the invoice beforehand.
Where the terms appear
Cancellation terms are printed on the invoice you receive before any payment, so you can read them while you decide. Nothing is charged before you accept a time and see those terms. If a question about payment is not answered here, ask it on the contact page and we will reply in writing.

Technical needs for online calls
A phone or laptop with a camera, a quiet corner and stable internet is enough for most of France, including islands with good coverage. Headphones help if other people are nearby, and they make your voice easier to hear on a windy day.
If the connection drops mid-sentence, we reconnect, or continue by phone audio and extend the call briefly so you do not lose the time. Tell us in advance if you need captions or a slower pace in English, and we will set the call up that way from the first minute.
Scope of our work
Limits and when to see a doctor
Our consultations give general nutrition information and habit support. They are not diagnosis or treatment, and they do not replace your own doctor or a hospital when something needs clinical care.
We pause and refer to a doctor for red flag symptoms, severe restriction, or conditions that need clinical review. Children are not taken as primary clients here, though we do discuss family meals with parents who want the whole table to work. If you are unsure whether we fit your situation, ask before booking and we will answer directly rather than leave you guessing.
Quick answers
The five questions we hear most
If your question is not here, the contact page reaches the same inbox that answers bookings, and we reply in writing.
Ask us something elseHow quickly will I get a reply after the form?
We usually reply within one to two working days with the times that are open and the payment details for the slot you choose. Replies go out on working days between Monday and Friday, 9:00–18:00, and Saturday morning, 10:00–14:00.
Are sessions in French or English?
All sessions and materials are in English, and appointments are booked in France local time, Central European Time (CET). If you need a slower pace or captions, say so when you request the slot and we will set the call up that way.
Do you give a fixed meal plan?
No. You receive flexible meal structures and habit steps built around foods you like and can actually find locally, in the shops and markets you already use. The plan is a set of options and proportions, not a menu you have to follow exactly.
Can I get a refund if I cancel?
Cancellation terms are stated with the invoice before payment, so you can read them while you decide. Rescheduling is offered when you write to us promptly, and for a first session we will always try to find another time before anything else.
Do I need tests or a doctor referral?
No referral or tests are needed for general guidance. If your situation needs medical review, we will refer you to a doctor and can prepare the meal notes you take with you to that appointment.
Still deciding whether a consultation fits?
Send the question that is still open and we will answer it before you commit to anything. Requests come to the same inbox that handles bookings, and a reply usually arrives within one to two working days. You can also read how our guidance is put together before you write.
